For years, I looked like I had everything together on the outside — capable, responsible, dependable — while quietly feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and disconnected on the inside.
I spent a long time trying to “think my way” out of anxiety and self-doubt. Therapy, journaling, staying positive, pushing harder… and yet, the worry and inner pressure always came back. After more than 25 years as a licensed social worker and therapist, and through my own healing journey, I’ve learned this truth:
